According to respected journalist Alan Nixon, Port Vale have missed out on a summer defensive transfer target.
A reminder on our Port Vale rumours features. These stories have been reported elsewhere on the web and are not started by OVF nor necessarily believed by us. We have published themselves because we think they are of interest but readers should remember that the vast majority of rumours never come to fruition – so treat these claims with caution!
According to Nixon via his Patreon page, Port Vale have lost out in the battle to sign free agent Ryan Edwards.
The giant six foot five inches defender has been for Scottish club Falkirk earlier this season. He began his career at Blackburn Rovers and has had spells with Morecambe, Plymouth Argyle and Dundee United.
Edwards has been out of contract since January and according to Nixon was a target for The Valiants, St Mirren and US club Sporting Club Jacksonville.
Nioxon says Edwards has opted for a pre-season contract with the US team – Sporting Club Jacksonville – and will be joining them in the summer.

Did Port Vale really “miss out” on this transfer? I live in the US and had never heard of a soccer club in Jacksonville until I read this article.
We didn’t need yet another unfit unattached player, what would the point be.
