Port Vale had added Marvin Johnson to their squad following injuries to regular left wingbacks Liam Gordon and Jaheim Headley.
The 34-year-old previously spent four years at Sheffield Wednesday, where he played under Darren Moore.
Johnson adds experience to the left flank. Gordon is expected to out long-term while Headley has missed the last couple of games. It leaves teenager Jack Shorrock as the only natural left wingback as Sam Hart cannot be recalled from his loan spell with Falkirk until January at the earliest.
Moore commented on the move saying: “Marvin is a player I know well and we’re delighted to bring him into the group here at Vale Park.
“He will offer plenty of quality and experience at both ends of the pitch, which I think will be invaluable to us throughout this important period, and we’re all looking forward to working with him.”

Sensible short term cover signing. It’s extraordinary how many wing backs Vale have needed this season, and it seems five of the club’s “stockpile” are currently out of action including, Clark, John, Gabriel, Gordon and Headley. Another test for Moore.
