Port Vale manager Darren Moore praised the performance of “every single” player after their hard fought second round win over Birmingham City.
The Valiants held on to record a memorable 1-0 win over their big spending Championship opponents, despite Moore making a host of changes to his starting line-up.
Vale threatened all night from set plays and dug deep to defend after Jaheim Headley gave them the lead.
Speaking to the media after the game, Moore said he was: “Really pleased, I said to every single one of them ‘what a performance tonight’.
“Both in and out of possession of the ball, the team has done really well, the structure was good, the organisation was good but within that they’ve got to do their jobs and they did that.
“Once we got to about 20, 25 minutes we had the pace of the game and all of a sudden we started putting our foot on the ball and gaps started to appear and more room to manoeuvre.
“All evening from set plays we looked really dangerous and the winning goal came from the second phase of a set play.”

Great news, and welcome to Vale park, any help up front is welcome at this moment in time ,you can see that Daren is trying his best to keep the side as strong as possible at all times , remembering that other factors come in when buying and keeping players.
Well done to Daren and Carol for her support to let’s just keep packing the park and help to support as often as we all can.
