Substitute Ryan Croasdale was the winner of the first OVF star man award of the season for his display against Rotherham United.
Croasdale put on an impressive display after coming on as substitute. However, he could not prevent Vale falling to defeat. The battling midfielder scored (at time of publication) an average rating of 7.6 just ahead of Mitch Clark and fellow sub Ronan Curtis (who both scored 7.1).

About these awards
After every first-team game, there will be an opportunity to rate every Vale player out of ten. We check the results after three days and the player (or players) with the highest rating is named our star man. In addition, we will produce the average marks for every player at the end of the season.

Delighted Croasdale was voted star man. Even though he was only on for the second half his work rate commitment and experience made all the difference to Vale’s revival in the second half. It’s a pity he wasn’t on for the complete match I think we would have got at least a draw.
