Port Vale have announced the double signing of goalkeeper Marko Maroši and New Zealand International striker Ben Waine.
The pair become the club’s sixth and seventh signings of the summer.
31-year-old Marosi joins on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract at Cambridge United. He was named in the 2020 League One team of the year and also has Championship experience.
24 year-old Waine joins on a two-year contract following the expiration of his contract at Plymouth Argyle. He also has experience of League One and the Championship as well as 23 caps and eight goals for his country.
Darren Moore on Ben Waine
We’re really pleased to welcome Ben to the club. He’s a young striker who will come in and give us something different, and another player who has experienced this level, as well as the international stage…
Darren Moore on Marko Maroši
Marko arrives at Vale Park with plenty of quality and experience, both at this level and above, so we’re delighted that he’s joining us. He has proven over a number of years that he is a really talented goalkeeper, and we feel he is another addition that will really strengthen us going into the new season. He will add huge competition in the goalkeeping department…

Mr Moore seems to be going down the same route he did when we got relegated from this division, a couple of seasons ago
Cannot understand Chizzy going. The manager would not play at the end of the season then said he was injured. We seem to not improve the squad with his Signings only time will tell.
Let’s hope we keep guys like Garrity, Shorrock Walters, Tolaj . Otherwise I can see us going back down to div 2.As long as we have this manager I cannot see us having any sort of settled squad. He is now the no.1 tinkering.
Happy with all Moore’s close season signings – well done.
