Former Port Vale player news: Ethan Chislett and Tommy McDermott have both been linked with moves to new clubs this week.
Chislett linked to Kaiser Chiefs switch
Ethan Chislett, who was released at the end of the season has been linked with a move back to his native South Africa. The midfielder suggested, after parting company with the Valiants, that he’d like to move to the country to further his ambitions of playing Internationally for his country. According to an X account @soccerbeat Chislett has agreed a two year deal with leading South African side Kaiser Chiefs.
The attacking midfielder made 82 appearances during a two year stay with the Vale. However, he found himself in and out of the side last season and it was no surprise when he was released at the end of the season.
McDermott on trial at Dundee?
Former Port Vale midfielder Tommy McDermott is reportedly on trial with Scottish club Dundee. He broke through to the Vale senior side in 2022 and made seven senior appearances before being snapped up by Burnley. McDermott made two appearances for the Clarets but it appears he may have parted way by mutual consent – perhaps in search of more regular first-team football.
Still only 20 years of age, McDermott was a graduate of the Vale youth programme and now has 26 senior appearances having scored four times.
