Port Vale are waiting for news on wingback Kyle John’s fitness after he limped out of the win over Walsall in the first-half.
The former Everton player has been in good form all season and will be missed should he be ruled out for any time. However, Vale are relatively strong in the wingback area with Sam Hart coming on for John on Saturday and youngster Jack Shorrock on the bench.
Manager Darren Moore told the media: “It was a combination of the impact and it also looked like his foot got caught in the turf. He has an ice pack on it and we will assess him over the next couple of days.”

He will be a big loss if he’s out for any length of time, it’s a big ask of Shorrock to keep playing in these high pressure games, especially away from home where his defensive abilities would be tested to the full.
I’m pretty sure I saw John on the pitch using crutches after the Walsall match. That seems more serious than just “having an ice pack on it.”
So did I @Adam Muckler – I think the club may be downplaying it a little.
