Port Vale defender goes out on loan

Port Vale have confirmed that teenage defender Ben Lomax has joined Southern League Premier Division Central side, Redditch United on a month’s loan.

Lomax, aged 19, has featured twice for the Valiants this season, both times in Football League Trophy games before a loan spell at Peterborough Sports where he made eleven appearances.

The defender made his senior debut for the Valiants in 2023 and signed a two and a half year professional deal in January 2024.

Redditch United manager Matt Clarke said: “Ben is someone we have tried to sign before after his successful loan spell at Peterborough Sports. He’s a good athlete and very composed on the ball, he will be a very good addition for the rest of the season.”
