Port Vale manager Darren Moore has told the media that defender Jesse Debrah missed the away win over Morecambe after picking up an injury in the Football League Trophy.
Debrah was the only player to play in Tuesday’s game against Wrexham who had featured in the weekend League loss to Gillingham. Moore confirmed: “Jesse sustained a knock from the mid-week game and a little bit of swelling developed.
“We just thought this game had come too soon for him. We certainly hope by the time of the Crewe fixture that Jesse will be back to full fitness and get back into training in the latter part of the week.”
In Debrah’s absence, Tom Sang started in the back thee while fellow defender Nathan Smith was on the bench and a late substitute.
