Port Vale FC have announced the signing of former Stockport County player Ryan Croasdale.
He becomes the club’s second signing of the summer following the earlier arrival of Ronan Curtis on a free transfer.
The club reports that the 29 year-old has signed a two-year deal with the club.
The club statement says: “Known for his leadership and combative style of play, Croasdale joins The Vale following a successful four-year stay with The Hatters which included two promotions, most recently as part of Dave Challinor’s Sky Bet League Two title-winning side.”
Manager Darren Moore commented: “He is a team player that sets the highest standards for himself and having experienced promotion with Stockport County last season, there’s no doubt that he will add depth and experience to our midfield unit. We have fought off a lot of clubs, noticeable clubs, including some at League One level to secure his services and we are all looking forward to welcoming Ryan to Vale Park.”

Good signing to hopefully compliment Ben garrity, but when are we signing the 20 goal a season striker to get us out of league 2 or any striker which is what what we crave, hopefully it will be before January:)
Where’s the strikers
Welcome to P.V.F.C Ryan ⚽
With possibly the worst defence and worst attack in the league last season it’s a strange signing unless, either Ojo, Garrity or Chislett are leaving, or possibly all three are moving on.
Great player, brilliant signing
Nice to see someone with lge2 experience sounds bit like an Andy Porter type of player good season with Stockport both signings so far not plagued by injuries I am sure a forward or couple of forwards will follow would like to see a central defender in the Leon Legge mould deal with our inability to defend balls into the box plus Nathan Smith is better when we have someone like that remember that partnership it was good
Ian it might even be Smithy, who is leaving
Vale fan, with you saying it could be Smith who leaves. There are a couple of worse central defenders in the Vale squad than Nathan Smith, at least he is proven at league two standards, whereas others aren’t.
