The media in Scotland says that out of contract Port Vale striker Uche Ikpeazu has been targeted by St Johnstone.
The Scottish club are managed by Craig Levein who had Ikpeazu in his squad when he managed Hearts. The striker was a success for the club, scoring ten times in 55 games for the Scottish Premier side.
Ikpeazu has divided opinion amongst fans since joining the Valiants for a second time in his career. Some have praised Ikpeazu for his power which some League One defences have struggled with but others will point to a scoring record of just one goal in 26 games.
The Valiants reported that Ikpeazu was in talks with the club about his contract situation but he may be tempted by a move North of the border.
According to the Courier newspaper, Levein is “keen” for Ikpeazu to make the switch.
The striker, who has been called up by the Uganda national side, agreed to join the Valiants in October for a second spell following a period on loan back in 2015. His complete record for the club stands at 52 appearances and seven goals.

Scotland welcome to him
Stay
Let him go would much prefer goal scorer such as Jordan Rhodes
Good I think he is crap so is Scottish football so he will do well
Move him on.we need consistency up front he’s to hit and miss.hes not irreplaceable.
Let him go, sign Wilson back up, to help Dipeppa with his career.
Agree with everyone poor signing to begin with we can do better
Relegated why ikpeaz and Wilson did not score goals so let him go. Vale need a 15 to 20 goal scorers
If Uche goes good luck to the lad.
See ya
He’s rubbish best thing is to move him on pinching a living
Best of luck Uche . The players and the fans have not had the best of seasons . You have to do what is best for you and it may not be Vale Park , if there is not an instant success then fans may persist in giving him a hard time . So on reflection perhaps the parting of the ways is for the best . What Vale really need is a proven striker and Uche a clean start and slate in Scotland .
Not his biggest fan and as the season went on liked him less and less . Why on earth he continuously throwing himself on the floor every 2 minutes I don’t know. I don’t like cheats and conmen regardless of what colour shirt they have on.
Goodbye
Finding good forwards as proved impossible in the last two years uche is perfectly suited for league two if Darren has a ready made replacement then we would wish him all the best in Scotland
He should and rebuild his career somewhere else.
I definitely got bored of hearing week after week that he was working his way back to being match fit for most of the season. Great talisman but the record says it all. One goal in 26 games. For £4000+ a week. That’s a poor return in anyone’s books. Good luck up in Scotland
