The Near Post – Vale second in form table
Popular football website The Near Post has been comparing Football League team’s form since the 1st October. The Valiants have accrued 21 points during that time putting them in joint second place in the division.

Derby fixture rearranged due to cup progress
Derby County’s success in the FA Cup this year has led to their fixture at Vale Park being rearranged. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday January 7 but has been rearranged for Tuesday January 24 (7.45pm).
Rovers not switching kick-off time for Saturday fixture
Bristol Rovers have confirmed that Saturday’s game against Port Vale will take place at 3pm. Some clubs have moved games forward to allow away fans time to return home for the England World Cup game later that day. However, Rovers have “deemed requesting to move the kick-off time may be detrimental to fans who have already bought tickets and made travel arrangements.”
However, it’s not all bad news for the travelling Vale fans. The home side will keep the Fan Zone at the Memorial stadium open after full-time before fans who wish to stay in the ground can take their place in the Thatchers End, at no extra cost, to cheer on England against Les Bleus with a 5m x 3m screen being installed. Access will be for all fans with a match ticket.
Vale’s youth team record thumping win
Port Vale’s youth team earned a place in the quarter finals of the Staffs Senior Cup with a 5-2 win at Foley Meir. The under-18s, saw off Foley with goals from Rhys Walters, Caelan Ryan, Che Trapasso and two from substitute Baylee Dipepa.
And finally…
First team players including James Wilson, Jack Stevens, Tom Conlon, Will Forrester and Derek Agyakwa will be in attendance at the Club Shop’s late night opening on Thursday (6-8pm). Hot and cold drinks and mince pies will also be served.
