Interim manager Andy Crosby said “taking nine points makes it a great week” as he reacted to the team’s 2-1 win at Bradford City.
The Valiants secured wins over Crawley Town, Mansfield Town and Bradford City in a seven day period to make it a splendid week for the club. Vale now sit just two points off the play-offs with two games in hand.

Crosby told the media: “Taking nine points makes it a great week. That is what we spoke about, making a good week a great one.
“The mentality at this football club is amazing. We have some amazing people who work at our football club, not only the playing side but the other staff as well. I thought the first half was a little bit scrappy, we missed so many moments to play the last pass to open them up. It was something we spoke about at half time and then the way we came out in the second half, we got right on the front foot and took advantage of those moments.
“We spoke pre-game about it being a bigger than normal league two ground and game in terms of numbers so we had to affect their crowd. We didn’t want to give them any energy. They have had two away games and won them 2-0 so we didn’t want to give them anything at the start of the game. So, I am delighted with how we defended.”
