Goalkeeper Lucas Covolan has heaped praise on his teammates after he reached the milestone of five clean sheets already this season.
The summer signing from Torquay United got off to a shaky start when he was sent off against Northampton on the opening day but the Brazilian has returned in fine form having made several match-winning saves in recent games.
Covolan told the media: “The first game of the season wasn’t the game I expected. First game of League Two and then me being sent off was not what I expected but we will learn from there and I believe we learn from our mistakes.”
The goalkeeper has now kept five clean sheets including two in the last couple of matches. The keeper added: “With the clean sheets, it’s not just me, it’s the whole team. That shows how strong is our unity and how strong defensively we are as well.”
The keeper also paid tribute to the Valiants supporters saying: “The fans have been very good for us. We have the Super Vale Away which is very good for us. It’s the last push that we need. I have to thank them. We’re going to give everything on the pitch. For us and for them.”
