Port Vale FC have announced the departure of Head of Coaching Nathan Rooney after six months in the role.
Rooney was appointed in March 2021 but has left by “mutual decision” in order to “develop his career”.
Director of Football David Flitcroft told the official Port Vale website: “As a club we have come to the mutual decision to allow Nathan to progress and develop his career as a Manager/Head Coach.
“That is where his true talent and passion lies in terms of managing and coaching and there is is no doubt that he will continue to achieve good things.
“It was proving difficult with logistics for Nathan to fully focus on his role at Port Vale as he is currently a non league manager with Colne FC.”
Rooney added: “I would like to thank Carol and the club for the opportunity they have given me during my time at Port Vale.
“I have enjoyed working with all the staff and I wish all the teams in the club the very best going forward.”
