In-form Port Vale forward Ben Waine, who has scored the winning goals in Port Vale’s fourth round and fifth round victories is said to be attracting interest from League One clubs.
A reminder on our Port Vale rumours features. These stories have been reported elsewhere on the web and are not started by OVF nor necessarily believed by us. We have published themselves because we think they are of interest but readers should remember that the vast majority of rumours never come to fruition – so treat these claims with caution!
According to website Sportsboom, Huddersfield and Blackpool are both showing an interest in the 24 year-old New Zealand International.
Neither club would be able to make a move until the window re-opens in the summer.
After a slow start to his Vale Park career, Waine now has eight goals in all competitions including scoring in each of his last three games.
Waine is under contract for another year and he could be tempted to stay in League One if the Valiants do slip down to the fourth tier.

Cannot let this happen
Gonna be realist here and say that if we are relegated Waine might leave. Staying up gives us a better chance of keeping the good players
As a team you cannot let this happen he is bringing our beloved vale back to the city .
You will loose a lot of fans if this happens.
Regular match day selection permitting, let’s see how well Waine does for the rest of this season. If he scores another 6-7 goals with Vale relegated, then it’s reasonable to expect interest from League 1 clubs. If Vale decide to sell and cash in, then they should look at a fee of at least £250,000, perhaps more. After all, Tolaj went to Plymouth for £1.2 million, albeit he was a more prolific scorer.
Not realistic prospects. I notice it’s Huddersfield and Blackpool declaring interest. Two clubs we are going to play soon. For me it’s just a cheap stunt on their part to unsettle the team.
Regarding last nights performance, I can only describe it as a disgrace, it was like watching Men v Boys, we were pushed shoved and bullied off the ball. Some players are not good enough but Grant was lazy and never closed down or put in a tackle and literally ran away from the play…he needs getting rid of now and take Shipley with him.
Regarding Ben Waine its inevitable, but if the club wants to progress it needs to invest not sell, the sale of Tolaj condemmed us to L2, if we continue to sell it will be non leavue obscurity, but if he is going then we shoukd talk in millions at least….£250k thats an insult.
Regarding Carol, she has been good for the club but has shown her inability to run the foot all side by keeping Darren Moore who should have gone as long ago as October and we may just have at lease being able to assemble a team that can compete.
