Port Vale manager Darren Moore says Ronan Curtis and Sam Hart both missed the friendly game against Birmingham City as a precaution after both picked up knocks.
The duo were not involved as the Valiants lost 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking to the media after the game Moore said: “Those two took a couple of knocks over the week so we are just assessing them. But both were on the grass doing a session this morning so we will see if they are able to be a part of the open (training) session on Monday.
“We are very hopeful so we will have a look at those two. They trained this morning and we’ll see if they have a reaction to the little knocks and strains they have had.
“But it’s not about being heroes in pre-season, it’s just about getting through pre-season and getting that fitness.”
