Highly rated Port Vale wingback Jack Shorrock has signed a new contract which will keep him at Vale Park until 2028.
The 18-year-old Vale academy graduate made 22 appearances last season, scoring twice, as the Valiants secured promotion back to League One.
Shorrock, who signed his first professional deal in 2024, was named League Two Apprentice of the Season at the EFL Awards.
Shorrock told the official website: “It’s a step forward that I think I’ve earned, but there’s no need to get ahead of myself.”
“I just need to keep doing what I’m doing, and try to help the team as much as I can. I love it here; it’s a great club full of great people, so I enjoy myself every single day.”
Vale boss Darren Moore commented: “Jack is a fantastic young man and talented player, who we believe has a really bright future ahead of him.
“This new contract recognises all of his hard work, and we’re really pleased to be continuing his development here at Vale Park.”

Fantastic news both for Jack & for the Vale fans. Good luck going forward Jack. We’ve already seen what you are capable of, so let’s have more of the same please!
Great news for Jack and the club. Let’s play him and not send him out on loan. He’s a smashing prospect and the senior players at the club will be of great help to him. The futures looking good keep the faith.
