The website Football League World claims that Port Vale are one of a number of clubs interested in free agent Jordan Gabriel.

The 26 year-old former Nottingham Forest player was released at the end of the season by League One side Blackpool. The right-sided defender has made 99 career appearances including 47 at Championship level.
According to Football League World – “Football League World has exclusively been informed that League One clubs Northampton Town, Mansfield Town, Lincoln City and newly promoted League Two side Port Vale are battling it out to sign soon-to-be Blackpool free agent, Jordan Gabriel.”
Gabriel can play both on the right flank and also as a central defender.
Defence may be one of the areas Vale look to strengthen after their promotion to League One. The club released defenders Nathan Smith and Dan Jones at the end of last season.
