Striker Kian Harratt, one of the stars of Port Vale’s play-off final win over Mansfield Town in 2022 has moved to League Two rivals Fleetwood Town on a permanent basis.
Harratt joined the Valiants on loan during the 2021-22 season and scored his first goal in professional football while playing for the Vale. He started the play-off final at Wembley stadium and put the Valiants ahead with a diving header. He totalled 22 games and five goals for the club.
The youngster did not enjoy similar success with his next loan spell – a move to Bradford City being cut short after he received a criminal conviction for hare coursing. He was then given a four-month ban and fined £3,200 in February 2024 after admitting placing 484 bets on football matches.
He joined Fleetwood Town on loan in the summer and has currently scored two goals in 21 games. A statement from Fleetwood Town confirmed that the 22 year-old has now joined the club on a permanent basis. It said – “Fleetwood Town can confirm forward Kian Harratt has made the move to the Fylde Coast permanently from League One side Huddersfield Town.”
Harratt’s short-term deal lasts until the end of the 2024-25 season.
