Oddschecker have told OVF that Port Vale’s odds have been slashed after a surge in bets and there’s a happy historical precedent which may be good news for Vale fans.
The Valiants are in excellent form right now. Manager Darren Moore was named League Two manager of the month for September while striker Jayden Stockley picked up the player award. Meanwhile, the team’s form has seen them hit top spot in League Two for the first time since 2013.
According to Oddschecker, Port Vale have attracted 41% of all bets for League Two titlewinners since their away victory at MK Dons last weekend. The betting firm notes that October’s most popular title bet has historically been a strong indicator of success. In the last eight League Two seasons, the team leading the total bets in this month has gone on to secure automatic promotion every time. In the last four campaigns, that team has won the title.
It potentially bodes well for Darren Moore’s side. Oddschecker’s Leon Blackman told us: “Port Vale’s victory over MK Dons has triggered a surge in betting interest, with the club now commanding 41% of all bets in the League Two Winners market since the weekend. Their odds have been slashed from 9/1 to 5/1, putting them level with Doncaster as joint favourites for the title.”
Next up for Vale is a home fixture against Fleetwood Town, where they are the 11/10 favourites to make it six wins from the last eight league games.
