Port Vale have announced the signing of Leicester City utility player Brandon Cover, who has a Jamaican International cap, on a season-long loan.
Cover is the club’s second loanee joining Benicio who is on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.
20-year-old Cover made his senior debut for the Foxes in last season’s 3-0 FA Cup fourth-round win over Birmingham City. It is his sole first-team appearance so far, but he has also played six games for City’s Under-21s in the Football League Trophy.
A versatile player, he can play as a full-back or in the midfield positions.
He won his first international cap for Jamaica in a friendly against Jordan last year.
Vale boss Darren Moore said: “He is a versatile, combative player who also enjoys getting on the ball and I’m sure he will be a real asset for us as the season progresses.
“Brandon also has a brilliant mindset and wants to use this opportunity to better himself both on and off the pitch.”

We seem to bring in players on loan and a lot of the time they don’t seem to have much experience at any level. The wage bill must be enormous and to have 230 plus in various roles non producing is a scandal at div 2 level.
By my reckoning, the Vale now have a bulging squad of 30 players. The more players there are, the more difficult it is to keep all the squad happy. It’s best to establish a settled team selection and tactical formula, but with a very large squad there’s always that temptation to tinker around with both. Fingers crossed that Moore knows exactly what he’s doing.
Personally I’m still not convinced by Moore but we do need a quick return to L1 so fingers crossed.
Tough one today after losing 4-0 to a team like Barrow is unacceptable tbh
Complete disjointed performance just about sums it up.
