There will be three Port Vale games broadcast on Sky Sports+ before the end of September – here’s your viewing guide…
FAQs
What’s changed?
The Football League switchover from iFollow to Sky Sports+ in the UK makes viewing Port Vale more complicated. Not all games will be available to watch and there will be announcements through the season about which games have been selected. A live game can affect your plans as they will usually have their kick-off times changed to avoid the Saturday 3pm black-out.
What has been announced?
Sky have announced the batch of Football League fixtures selected for broadcast until September and three Vale games will be broadcast.
The first game will be the opening game against Salford City. Sky are broadcasting all games that day and as there is no Premier League games there is no blackout so the game will be broadcast at 3pm. The other two games – the home game against Doncaster Rovers and the away game at Accrington have been moved to 12.30pm kick-offs.
How do I see the live games in the UK?
If you haven’t got a Sky Subscription you can watch Sky+ through Now TV. You don’t need a set-top box but can watch through the web. Daily, weekly or monthly subscriptions are available. The Football League games will be available as bonus streams which you can select from the Now TV menu.
What about Port Vale outside of the UK?
Fans based abroad can continue to watch the Vale games live through iFollow which will continue for fans based overseas.

It will be nice to More Vale on Main Sky sports channels, but we/ most EFL clubs weren’t happy with a take it or leave deal.
This will mean some very early/late leaving home times for some of the Saturday away game supporters. Can’t help but think that once again, true fans are being brushed aside for the money making bigwigs!
