“Have to continue to fight” – Port Vale manager Darren Moore
Port Vale manager Darren Moore says the win over Burton Albion has given the team a “fighting chance” of avoiding relegation but the team has to continue to show the same attitude and application.
A hard-working Port Vale display at Burton was capped by a winning goal from striker Ryan Loft as the Valiants netted their first win under their new manager.
I’m thankful to have three points, a clean sheet and to be able to say ‘we got it right’…
Speaking to the media after the game Moore said: “I’m delighted with the three points. It’s been a long time coming. I felt we’ve been close but getting it over the line was great.
“We’ll keep fighting. There’s always been that desire and attitude, despite what’s gone on, and we’ve given ourselves a fighting chance. But we have to continue to fight on.
“All round everyone played their part and got it right. We needed to because we had no room for error and I’m thankful to have three points, a clean sheet and to be able to say ‘we got it right’.
“I’m delighted for us all at the football club. It’s a valuable three points. It’s nice for everyone connected with Vale Park to have that feel-good factor.”
