“Minimum ten to twelve weeks” – Port Vale manager has bad news on Ikpeazu injury
Port Vale manager Andy Crosby has told the media that striker Uche Ikpeazu could be out for twelve weeks.
The news is a big blow for the club as Ikpeazu has been first-choice alongside James Wilson with the pair forming an effective partnership. In Ikpeazu’s absence, Wilson, Ryan Loft and teenager Baylee Dipepa are the only senior choices unless the club adds additional players on deadline day.
The experienced centre-forward sustained a shoulder injury during the loss to Portsmouth at the weekend and Crosby commented: “Uche has already had surgery on that shoulder. We’re looking at minimum ten to twelve weeks.
“The big man was obviously in a lot of pain last week. He’s now ruled out for that period of time.
“It has come at the wrong time. Another major injury to another player.”
