Transfer Rumour: Port Vale are linked with wingback
A report by London News Online claims that Port Vale are one of two League One clubs interested in adding a Crystal Palace wingback on loan.
The Valiants already have good connections with Palace having loaned Kofi Balmer from them earlier this season.
According to the London News Online website, Vale are unlikely to obtain the player as they claim:
RWD Molenbeek has emerged as a serious loan option for Crystal Palace defender Tayo Adaramola.
Bristol Rovers and Port Vale had both been keen on a deal for the 20-year-old, but the South London Press understands a stint in the Belgian Pro League could now be the most viable destination for the left-back.
Adaramola has already had a spell on loan having joined Championship side Coventry at the start of the 2022-23 season. However, his season-long loan was brought to an end after just one appearance – a 4-1 defeat in the League Cup against Bristol City – and he returned to Palace’s U21 side for the rest of the campaign.
The Republic of Ireland U21 International has also made three senior appearances for Palace – all in cup competitions.
The Valiants are likely to be looking for cover at left wingback. Conor Grant is only senior left-footed wingback and his injury issues have meant the likes of James Plant, Mitch Clark and Tom Sang have been forced to play out of position at times. Youngster Jack Shorrock has potential but is only sixteen years of age.
