The 2023/24 League One season has an enthralling look to it, with a whole host of big name sides in the mix for promotion to the Championship.
As the strength of the Premier League continues to grow in both English football and on the continent as a whole, the filtration of strong teams further down the English football pyramid is clear to see.
For a side like Port Vale, this presents a whole new set of challenges, with the Valiants more than able to hold their own in League One however, the resources available at some other sides in the division can make it difficult for a side like Port Vale to dream of achieving promotion to the Championship.
Not only is it at the top of the system where teams are receiving investment but also in the lower leagues too, with the likes of Wrexham and Notts County benefiting from healthy financial windfalls and putting pressure on sides such as Port Vale from below.
With the increased scrutiny and awareness surrounding lower league football in England, there has been a notable spike in the number of football betting markets available to punters.
Inevitably, increased opportunity is generally seen as a positive for bettors, but some players can find the choice within the marketplace overwhelming and players must do their research when it comes to choosing the best casino apps.
With more players than ever before taking an active interest in the English lower leagues, plenty of fans are begging the question as to which sides will get promoted from League One in the 2023/24 season.
Premier League parachute
Whilst the gap between the Premier League and League One could not be more different, the reality of the situation remains that if a side does drop out of the top flight, they do frequently find themselves slipping into further danger.
Of the 24 sides operating in League One, no fewer than 9 teams have been playing Premier League football at some point over the past three decades.
Consequently, the financial limitations of sides such as Port Vale is felt, with the sides coming out of the Premier League clearly able to access more resources than those who haven’t plied their trade in the top division of English football.
In the early predictions and betting for the 2023/24 League One title, the likes of Derby County, Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley all look to be firmly in the mix to earn promotion back to the Championship.
Port Vale will be looking to mix it with those sides, as they embark on their second consecutive season in League One under the stewardship of Andy Crosby.
However, the reality remains that the aforementioned sides, along with the likes of Wigan Athletic and Portsmouth look to be the front runners to climb up into the Championship.
Staying in the mix
One of the key appeals of the League One season for most fans is the enduring nature of the 46 game season.
Every team needs a squad full of players, who are willing to work tirelessly to achieve their respective goals as the campaign pans out.
Port Vale, like many sides around them, will be eager to secure their League One status as quickly as possible and from there, the world will be their oyster.
With survival secured on the penultimate week of the season at the end of 2023, Port Vale will be looking to draw upon those experiences and ensure they can push for further honours in the 2023/24 season, in what should be one of the best League One seasons in recent times.
