Port Vale defender extends stay with club
Port Vale FC have announced that left-sided defender Dan Jones has agreed a new two-year deal with the club.
The defender joins Nathan Smith and James Plant in signing a new contract with the club.
Jones was signed in the summer of 2021 and caught the eye with his long-throw and raking cross-field passes. He was a regular in the first-half of Vale’s promotion campaign before injury ruled him out in the New Year.
He forced his way back into the side in the higher environs of League One last season before injury once again brought his season to an early end.
The defender has made a total of 56 appearances for the club without finding the net to date.

Port Vale Football Club is delighted to confirm that Dan Jones has signed a new two-year contract extension that will run until the summer of 2025.
The versatile defender joined the Vale in the summer of 2021 and helped the Valiants secure promotion from League Two in his first full season with the club before becoming a mainstay across the backline in the following campaign in League One.
A consistent performer, Jones deservedly received a number plaudits throughout the season including being voted as November’s Reels in Motion Player of the Month before an unfortunate injury against Shrewsbury Town brought his season to a premature end.
