MLS Power Ranking
It’s almost mid-season in the MLS. And what a season this is about to be! Some teams have already lived up to their potential, entertained the crowds with some great matches, while others have flopped and are struggling to get in proper form.
After 14 weeks of professional soccer being played, we are more than ready to continue watching the battles and support our team! Here are the top 5 soccer clubs in the MLS that will keep your eyes in the game.
5. Real Salt Lake
The Real Salt Lake are holding the 3rd position in the western conference and with 25 points are tied with FC Dallas. Real Salt Lake have played one more game and recorded 4 loses comparing to only 3 loses for the FC Dallas. The Real Salt Lake managed to win 4 out of their last 5 games. Their wins came over the LA Galaxy, Austin, Montréal and Houston. It’s expected for this team to improve their current form and at least keep their spot in the western conference.
- Philadelphia Union
The Philadelphia Union is the only team that lost only once this season. They also have most draws (7) out of any team in the league. They are currently ranked second in the eastern conference, with 25 points, trailing 1 point behind the New York City FC. The Union are facing Cincinnati FC in their next game at the Subaru Park. We are keen to see if they will break their drawing luck and manage to win as they are the favorites in this game. This is a match you do not want to miss!

- FC Dallas
Currently ranked second in the western conference, the Dallas are one of the best teams in the league. If they keep up the same form in the second half of the season, they will definitely be one of the contenders to win the league. In their last game they beat the Orlando FC with 3-1 after trailing 0-1. Paul Arriola lead the team, scoring a brace, helping FC Dallas to turn the game around and get the win. FC Dallas are one of the favorites to win the western conference. They will face Vancouver Whitecaps FC in their next game. It is expected for them to pick up an easy win as they are the heavy favorites.
- Los Angeles Football Club
Holding the first place in the western conference, 4 points ahead of FC Dallas, The Los Angeles Football Club are currently playing the best soccer in their conference. Their best player Carlos Vela has scored 6 goals in 14 games, and is looking to make a comeback after picking up a quad injury. LAFC have recorded 9 wins so far, which is the most out of any team in the MLS.
- New York FC
The Current MLS champions are looking forward to defend their title this year and, so far, they are the best team in the league. New York FC are holding the first place in the eastern conference with 26 points out of 13 games. NYFC haven’t lost a game since the 19th of march and currently are having the best form out of every team in the MLS. If NYFC maintain their current form, they will definitely defend their title and become back to back MLS champions –this will be an easy bet!
