Championship Season 2022 Predictions
Things are heating up as we approach the second leg of the Round of 16 in the Champions League. The frontrunners moving into the second leg have to be the English team’s Manchester City and Liverpool.
Man City has a commanding 5 – 0 aggregate over Sporting Lisbon as they take them on at home, and it’s going to take a miracle for Sporting to come back from this deficit.
Liverpool has a dominant 2 – 0 lead over Inter in their upcoming match at Anfield, and we think Inter has a big task ahead of them if they want to stop the Red’s chances of advancing. We’ll see the teams answer these questions on the 8th of March.
Let’s unpack our Championship betting tips to help you get an edge in the Round of 16.
Who will win the 2022 Champions League?
The way things stand right now, Liverpool and City have the momentum. Both teams should comfortably move through to the quarterfinals. So, who’s on the better form at the moment. Arguably, it’s Liverpool, with the Reds yet to lose a match in the tournament, while City has two strikes against them in their campaign.
However, City’s strong showing in the first leg of the Round of Sixteen silenced their critics as Pep’s men dominated Sporting with a 5 – 0 win away from home. City also has the momentum behind them in the Premier League, as do Liverpool, but we feel that Liverpool seems to be returning to its form from before the Christmas break.
It’s tough to see who could end up raising the trophy at this point, but we have to say that Liverpool and City have the best chance of pulling it off as it stands.
Who are the Outside Possibilities in the Champions League Race?
So, who else has a chance to stop City or Liverpool’s domination of the Championship title race? If we’re looking at the first leg performance of teams, we have to say that everything else looks pretty locked up as we move into the second leg.
Real Madrid sits in the backseat in their upcoming game at home with PSG, with a 0- 1 aggregate. Could they pull off a win? With their recent La Liga performance strengthening the team’s confidence, it’s highly likely, especially at home.
Bayern and RB Salzburg are 1 – 1 moving into the second leg, with Bayern gaining the home-ground advantage. Manchester United and Atletico Madrid also find themselves locked up at 1 – 1 moving into the second leg. The Red Devils have the home advantage at Old Trafford, and the team looks to be gaining momentum with Ronaldo coming back to the side.
Chelsea also looks good going into the second leg, with a 2 – 0 win bolstering their aggregate moving into the second leg away from home at LOSC. On the outside, we have Juventus and Villareal tied at 1 -1, moving into the second leg in Italy.
Who will take it? At this stage, we have to say that Liverpool looks likely to take another Championship title home to Anfield this season, and deservedly so.
