Manager Darrell Clarke again rang the changes but the rejigged Vale line-up still put on an impressive performance as they continued their fine run of form.
However, Vale’s long run of clean sheets was ended as Bradford took the lead on thirteen minutes when Clayton Donaldson netted at the near post.
The Valiants didn’t let their heads dropped and turned the game around. Two minutes later, Theo Robinson was on hand to net from close range after good work from Will Swan and Luke Joyce. Vale then got a second on the half-hour mark as Nathan Smith was tripped in the box and skipper Conlon converted the spot-kick.
Conlon was once again impressing in midfield as Vale largely dominated the first-half. The visitors were restricted to snap shots with Scott Brown alert to save.
In the second-half, Vale pressed with a high line as they controlled the game. They could have had a third when there appeared to be a clear handball in the box but the ref failed to give a second penalty. Meanwhile. Bradford were again restricted to snapshots with Brown again alert to palm out a shot from a City free-kick.
However, the resilient Vale defence calmly ran the clock down to record another win as their recent superb form continued. Darrell Clarke will no doubt take a lot from seeing more members of his squad in action with much maligned duo Danny Whitehead and Theo Robinson both having good games. Loanee Swan also impressed as did the now ever-reliable Vale defensive unit. It’s been a really strong end to the season by Clarke’s rejuvenated side.

Know Tom personally but everyone has their time, will be remembered fondly by fans. Cullen and Guthrie to go to make way in squad for younger hungry strikers along hopefully with a recognised goalscorer at this level.
