Has been enquiries – John Askey confirms interest in Port Vale players
Port Vale manager John Askey has confirmed that there has been interest in Port Vale players ahead of the January transfer window.
There has been enquiries about a couple but it depends if they want to go. We’re looking hard for anyone who may improve us…
Due to squad caps this season, Port Vale would need to allow players to leave to bring in new blood.
Askey confirmed that he would be looking to move some players on in order to bring fresh players into the squad.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Barrow game, Askey confirmed that “because of the cap that’s on you’ve got to move people out before you move people in.”
Askey is looking for experienced players rather than young loanees saying: “it’s hard to bring in someone from under 23 football, you’re taking a risk.”
He also confirmed interest in Port Vale players from other clubs adding: “there has been enquiries about a couple but it depends if they want to go. We’re looking hard for anyone who may improve us.”

Perm any 2 from 3, Askey has a thankless task we all expected more this season but some of his signings are not much better than National League players.
