French Roulette strategy
The French are not only pioneers in more beautiful things in life like fashion or delightfully choreographed and immaculately tasty cuisines, but they also created the opportunity for us to indulge ourselves in Roulette.
It is widely accepted by the roulette connoisseurs that French scientist Blaise Pascal was the visionary to envisage the modern version of the roulette wheel where an additional ‘0’ was added.
French Roulette Strategy
Albert Einstein once said, ‘No one can possibly win at roulette unless he steals money from the table while the croupier isn’t looking.’
There are more than enough books, statistics, opinions, systems, websites, etc. to master roulette strategy, but still, you may not be able to beat the house. This is the fact that every gambler – pro or amateur alike – should always remember. The thing is casinos are managed by smart business people, and at its core, they are mostly there to make money off you. There will be a blue moon once in a while when everything works out just fine, but sadly and inevitably, in the end, the house always wins.
But does that make us stop looking for strategies to win over? It never did, it never has and it never will. So, people like us never stop looking for that winning ‘trick.’
Now, let’s talk about a few strategies that work for French roulette as well as for all the other versions of the game:
Progressive Betting
As the name suggests, progressive strategies are based on the concept of raising the size of your bet after getting the upshot of around. The most renowned and widely implemented roulette strategy – the Martingale system – is the perfect example of a progressive approach. This method implies that you double the bet after every loss. Though it’s straightforward and easy-to-apply for new players, it’s profoundly a wild proposition, and it’s unlikely that you will see experienced players relying on it. A modified version of the Martingale system is the reverse Martingale, also known as the Paroli system. This strategy suggests you double the money after you win.
Martingale and Paroli’s roulette betting systems are best suited for outside bets with a free probability of nearly 50%. They are also considered useful ways to make up for all the losses you might have incurred already. But the downside is if the probability game works in your disfavor, you might start bleeding money before you know it.
Flat Progression
A smooth progression strategy is better than progressive betting for inside bets. If you apply this strategy, you might not win frequently, but when you do, you will probably end up with more money than what you have started with. The D’Alembert system is the best way to exemplify a flat progression method. And as the name suggests, this is another contribution by a French Mathematician for the loving roulette population all over the world. In short, bets would be placed on even-money areas of the table (Red/Black, Odd/Even, 1-18/19-36, etc.), and one unit is either added or subtracted depending on losing or winning bets respectively.
Non-Progressive Betting
In simple terms, either you will be keeping your bet the same throughout the entire game or change it whenever or however you prefer to change. This method is made famous by none other than the spymaster himself – Ian Fleming – and aptly named the James Bond strategy. You will be placing bets covering more than half of the table, with a view to turning the odds in your favor. And then there is the favored strategy only allowed in French Roulette – betting on neighboring numbers. This actually entails splitting the bet and placing it on five neighboring numbers that are virtually next to each other on the wheel. The idea is you will enhance the chances of winning if the ball misses the pocket selected by you. This type of bet is part of the ‘Called’ and ‘Announced’ bets.
The above strategies are widely used not only in French Roulette but also in European or American roulettes. But as I have mentioned in the beginning – no plan is foolproof and can’t guarantee anything. Once the wheel starts moving, no one or no system can predict the outcome.
Still, keeping the strategies in mind can sometimes help you, at least they will help you remain rational throughout the betting experience.
And please remember that you should stop when the fun stops.
