Probably our best performance of the season – Scott Brown on win over Colchester Utd
Goalkeeper Scott Brown has heaped praise on his Port Vale teammates after their comprehensive 3-0 home victory over Colchester United on Saturday afternoon.
The Vale wrapped up a convincing win thanks to goals from Tom Conlon and Mark Cullen (2) and now move into the League Two play-off spots.
Right from the start I thought we were the better team and the main difference was we played the conditions a lot better than they did…
Brown told the official Port Vale website: “That was probably our best performance of the season, from start to finish we controlled a really good Colchester United team, played some really good football, right from the start I thought we were the better team and the main difference was we played the conditions a lot better than they did.
“A lot of credit’s got to go to the management staff, at the start of the season we perhaps didn’t have the biggest budget in the league but the gaffer’s put together a great squad and it just shows you don’t need a massive budget.”
