Port Vale manager John Askey says that his Vale side were unable to put home side Swindon Town under any sustained pressure on Saturday afternoon.
The Valiants were well beaten 3-0 on Saturday afternoon with Vale limited to a few half chances against the League Two leaders.
Speaking after the defeat Askey said: “We started well enough but we never turned them, we were never able to put them under pressure.
“What they did well was get the ball forward and make us make mistakes. You wouldn’t say they played loads of football, they just put us under pressure and we just thought we could play the same in previous games, like we did against Leyton Orient.
“You just haven’t got the time in games like this. You have to adapt. Sometimes it is not going to be pretty. But we wanted too long on the ball and consequently they were able to close us down.”
