The First-ever Parimatch League Season for Dota 2 Conducted
Parimatch, the renowned sports betting company, is on the relentless path of reinforcing its name of an esports bookmaker with new ventures. It has successfully organized the first season of Parimatch League with collaboration from ESForce Holding, another big name in the Russian esports industry.
The first-ever League event organized by an esports company saw many contending teams fighting the game of Dota 2. And the Yota Arena in Moscow was packed with a crowd of no less than 1000 viewers to witness the Final. The total prizes to be won were set to be $70,000. The winners Virtus.Pro bagged the final prize of $40,000. The other fighters in the finals were HellRaisers, jfshfh178, and Team Spirit.
The final games of the opening season itself were broadcast even by the US and Chinese media corporations. The Twitch streaming service recorded 6,000,000 views in all. The final match played by Virtus.Pro and HellRaisers was witnessed by 69,000 spectators live. 136,000 unique viewers watched the game on an average every day, with the highest count, 550,000, on the playoffs.
“We saw an exciting game in this opening season. We hope the spectators enjoyed it. We would like to see the number of Dota 2 lovers increasing across the CIS, for which the League by Parimatch is a big help. We also want to provide brilliant players a chance to grow, and hope we can see new stars rising in the forthcoming season,” observed Maxim Maslov, who is the CEO of Epic Esports Events.
Parimatch continues with its efforts to contribute to the esports arena and has decided to make it big by announcing the subsequent season for an even bigger prize pool of $100,000. Teams will be selected through qualification instead of sending invites. The qualification rounds will commence in December 2019, and the main event will go on up till May 2020.
“We have been successful in offering a league of Russian language to players, which constitutes a strong foundation for competition in the CIS. The event has pleased esports lovers and will help the Russian Dota 2 scenario grow further. We are happy to declare the next season in which we can see the best teams of the CIS region battling for a $100,000 prize pool,” said Stepan Shulga, chief of Parimatch esports.
