Man City v Port Vale FA Cup third round tie is not selected for a live TV broadcast
Port Vale’s eagerly anticipted FA Cup third round trip to FA Cup holders Manchester City is not one of the six FA Cup third round TV picks.
It means the Vale will miss out on a £150,000 fee for a live televised game. However, the Valiants could still pick up £50,000 if the game is selected for extended highlights.
Vale’s game will take place between the 3rd January and the 6th January – with Saturday 4th January now looking favourite for the game to take place.
The Valiants reached the third round after impressive away wins over League One strugglers MK Dons and League Two rivals Cheltenham Town. The club are expecting a large away following for the match with ticket details expected to be announced soon.
Winning clubs will receive £135,000 from The FA prize fund and a place in the fourth round.
The games which have been selected for live broadcast are:
