James Gibbons says Port Vale squad have renewed belief

James Gibbons says confidence is high at Vale Park after back-to-back away wins.

Speaking after Vale defeated Bradford City and Crewe Alexandra Gibbons told the official Port Vale website: “We were going to places and sort of not believing in what we could do. We’d go to Salford and look comfortable but then concede, we’d go to Leyton Orient, look comfortable and then concede in the last 10 minutes.

“We looked at that and thought Bradford was the perfect place to go, they were top of the league, we’re the underdogs and if we lost there people probably wouldn’t have batted an eye lid.

“Then Crewe Saturday was another perfect example of the belief we’ve now got. We’re two points off the play-offs and six points off the top and that just shows how tight the league is and anyone can beat anyone on the day.”
