It’s going to be difficult to keep Cullen out – fan views on Port Vale’s win over Carlisle United
Port Vale defeated Carlisle United thanks to goals from David Worrall and Mark Cullen – here is the reaction of the fans on the OVF forum to the result
Have your say now on the dedicated match forum threadGood win for the Vale, my overall man of the match was Nathan Smith. I’m really pleased for Mark Cullen, how does John Askey regularly get Cullen in the team given his favored formation? It’s a nice problem to have.

Get in there Vale. Up to eighth now. Who would have thought this would happen? I would have been happy with mid-table with all the stuff that has happened over the past few years and the rebuilding job the new owners have had to do.
But it shows how quickly the club is getting it together on and off the pitch. Well done to the owners who have instigated the changes off field and John Askey and Co on getting the players into the right mind set. It’s great being a Vale fan again.

Phew! Thought we’d never get past them. So well done to the lads, especially Wozza and Cullen. It’s going to be difficult to keep Cullen out on his recent form. We’re eighth now and just five points off the top. Dare we dream? C’mon Vale!

A cracking win showing great resolve! Two points (or one last minute equaliser not conceded) off the automatic places! One loss in 12… making the couch pundits look stupid again!

Great win today for the Vale. I thought we played some very nice football especially in the first half, but we were just missing that final touch. Cullen could very much fill that role for me. He is a natural poacher and he is always in the right place at the right time. He deserves a start next week in place of Bennett. Overall, very impressed. Bring on Scunthorpe next who are very much beatable.

Just think we have Oyeleke, Colon, Pope, Cullen, Atkinson, Browne and others all not making the starting XI – a huge difference from previous seasons
