A perfect away win – Port Vale defender comments on FA Cup victory
Port Vale defender James Gibbons says the FA Cup victory over Milton Keynes was “a perfect away win.”
The Valiants kept up their recent impressive away record with a deserved 1-0 win over their League One opponents.
It’s a perfect away win, once again cleans sheet for the back for but like I said it’s not just the back four who take the positive for the clean sheets…
After the match, Gibbons told the official Port Vale website: “I think you can see the organisation in the squad, the fitness levels, we’re probably one of the fittest in the league. You see in the 89th minute, Popey pressing the corner and four lads going with him, winning the ball back and I think we keep it in the corner, and it buys time for us.
“That’s something that we’ve been looking and the gaffer’s having us doing it’s no end of work, we’ve been practising and it’s coming together now.
“It’s a perfect away win, once again cleans sheet for the back for but like I said it’s not just the back four who take the positive for the clean sheets. Now we’re scoring goals and it’s coming from the front we press from the front well and it’s a credit to the whole squad.”
