Concentrate on the away performances – Port Vale manager on his current priorities
Port Vale manager John Askey says that the team have “got to concentrate on the away performances” after the side’s improved home form.
Vale finally secured an away win, albeit in the Football League Trophy, on Tuesday evening and Askey thinks the Valiants can carry that form into their trip to Leyton Orient.
Last season the results were better away from home, so what we’ve got to do is get a happy medium, obviously our home form’s improved massively, now we’ve got to concentrate on the away performances…
Askey told the official Port Vale website: “I think whoever you play, you respect every team in the league, but it’s a game we can go into and if we perform then we feel as though we can get a result.”
The Vale manager feels the team should concentrate on performances away from home adding: “The performances have been decent, we might not have won but we’ve got results away from home, Tuesday night was our first win so I’m not too concerned.

“The league’s very much a muchness, but it’s about us and if we can perform how we have done in the majority of games then we can get a result.”
