Port Vale look to have given up on defender Mitch Clark
Port Vale manager John Askey thinks that any chance of a right-back Mitch Clark returning to Vale Park has gone.
Askey says that the defender is expected to sign for Premier League club Leicester City and even if they do loan him out, it is not likely to be until the New Year.
Clark was a big success last season after being loaned out by his then club Aston Villa.
However, Askey told the Sentinel newspaper: “I have been told that he has signed for Leicester.
“I think if he goes to Leicester then I don’t think they will loan him out until January anyway.
“You get to a stage where you just move on and hopefully we can get somebody in better.”
The Valiants have recently had former Rotherham United right-back Shaun Cummings on trial.
