Port Vale boss hails pleasing win but says don’t get carried away
Port Vale manager John Askey said the friendly win over League One Fleetwood was “really pleasing” but said this is no time to get carried away.
The Valiants won 1-0 thanks to a fine strike from new signing David Amoo.
Getting a win gives you confidence, and without getting carried away, it was really pleasing…
Askey told the official Port Vale website: “Getting a win gives you confidence, and without getting carried away, it was really pleasing.
“If you hold your own against teams like Fleetwood it stands you in good stead for the rest of the season.
“We made one or two chances, I would like to have made more chances. I can’t really remember Scott Brown having to make a save, they hit the post but apart from that they had very few chances.”
