Port Vale manager John Askey aiming to bring in five main signings over the summer
Port Vale manager John Askey has revealed the key positions he wants to strengthen over the summer.
Askey says his main targets are:
- A new striker (expected to sign this week)
- A new midfielder (widely expected to be Ryan Lloyd)
- A goalkeeper (expected to be conducted via trials)
- A right-back
- A wide man
The list is not set in stone so signings in other positions could also follow, especially if transfer-listed duo Ben Whitfield and Connell Rawlinson leave the club.
Askey has so far recruited left back Adam Crookes, from Nottingham Forest, central defender Kieran Kennedy, from Wrexham, midfielder Scott Burgess, from Bury and striker Richie Bennett, from Carlisle.
