Port Vale manager says everyone is on tenterhooks over takeover
Port Vale manager John Askey says that “everyone is on tenterhooks” about the proposed takeover of the club.
Vale could have new owners in the next week if talks between Carol and Kevin Shanahan to buy the club from Norman Smurthwaite can be concluded. However, the alternative could see the club plunged into administration.
I think we all just have to wait and see. I think we are all waiting for next week to see if the deal goes through with Carol and then hopefully everything will fall into place…
After the draw with Bury, Askey told the media: “I think we all just have to wait and see. I think we are all waiting for next week to see if the deal goes through with Carol and then hopefully everything will fall into place. So, everybody’s on tenterhooks waiting to see.
“I have enjoyed my time. I am really pleased that we have stayed up and it would be nice to be part of it, when things look as though they are going to be a little but rosier.”
