Port Vale manager hopeful that key midfielder will remain with club
Port Vale manager John Askey says he is optimistic that midfielder Manny Oyeleke will agree a new deal with a club.
Oyeleke is out of contract in the summer but generally impressed during his first season at the club.
I think it would be good for him if he did stay and we could get a good full season out of him…
Askey told the media: “I have been speaking to Manny’s agent. Manny has gone away now but I think he wants to stay.
“He came to the area and he and his wife and settled quite well. I think it would be good for him if he did stay and we could get a good full season out of him.
“He has had one or two injuries but that was his first real season in professional football. When Manny has played for me he has done really well so I am keen to try to keep him.”
