Blow for Port Vale: midfielder ruled out for the season?
Port Vale have been dealt a blow with news that influential midfielder Manny Oyeleke may miss the rest of the season with a calf injury.
The 26 year old central midfielder was forced off during the first-half of Saturday’s 1-0 win at home to Crewe.
Going into pre-season he was injured and then he had to start playing to get his fitness. That has affected him this season. So, he will probably be out for the rest of the season…
Manager John Askey told the media: “I think all season Manny has struggled to get right. Going into pre-season he was injured and then he had to start playing to get his fitness. That has affected him this season. So, he will probably be out for the rest of the season.
“Hopefully not but we will just have to see. But we all know that Manny will be missed because he had shown his ability. He has looked a good player.”
The news will be a blow for Vale fans as Oyeleke has played a part in the team’s recent revival and Vale have been short of alternatives in central midfield. Luke Hannant is favourite to step in to Oyeleke’s place for Vale’s next game.
