Ton up for Tom Pope as striker hits century
It was a memorable moment for Port Vale fans after talisman striker Tom Pope netted his 100th senior goal for the club.
Pope had been stranded on 99 goals after being injured earlier this year but the Port Vale fan marked his return by netting from the spot against Northampton.
Pope had only just entered the field of play and made no mistake from the penalty spot to net his 12th goal of the season.
If the 33 year-old nets eight more times he will overtake Martin Foyle as the club’s most prolific post-war scorer.
