Manager praises excellent Valiants after win over Yeovil
Manager John Askey was full of praise for his Port Vale team after their 3-0 home win over Yeovil.
The victory means Vale have now picked up six points at home in the last four days and significantly eased their relegation zones. The highlight of the game was a stunning volleyed second goal from midfielder Tom Conlon.
We all thought as soon as it left his foot that it was going in the back of the net. He couldn’t have struck it any better than that…
Askey told the media: “We started really strongly, I was a little bit disappointed it was only 1-0 at half-time. You start to think, can we do it again?
“But the players were excellent throughout the 90 minutes, as a manager you can’t ask for any more. The commitment was there and we played good football as well. The goals were great – especially Tom’s.
