Former Port Vale loanee set to seal non-league move?
Former Port Vale loanee Lewis Hardcastle is set to move to Barrow on a permanent basis, reports claim.
The Blackburn Rovers midfielder was signed on loan by the Valiants earlier this seaosn but was recalled by his parent club due to a lack of game time.
Perhaps Vale’s reservations in playing Hardcastle were correct as the youngster appears to have found his level in the National League.
Hardcastle moved on loan to Barrow in the New Year and (playing alongside Vale loanee Dior Angus) the midfielder has made a string of impressive performances.
Barrow manager Ian Evatt told the local media: “Initially, we took him on a month’s loan, but we are close to agreeing a permanent deal with Lewis. That isn’t too far away and hopefully we’ll have that tied up by the end of the week.”
